A Perfect Cozy Day in the Tasting Room

    The sun is beginning to shine a little brighter and spring blossoms are just around the corner. After the cheerful season welcoming the holidays it seems like winter has been never-ending with classic midwest fluctuations of bitter cold and summer sun. However, there are plenty of cozy notes to take in here at Mallow Run Winery. The crackling fireplace, our winery cat Frisbee snuggled up in his favorite chair, and the beautiful snow falling over our 7 acres of vineyards are just some of what makes us cherish this time. We’re taking in these last moments of winter before the hustle and bustle of our upcoming summer events. And we’ve got you covered with a few ideas to embrace the relaxing nature of the Tasting Room during your next visit!

    1. Try one of our heart-warming dry red wines during your complimentary tasting.

    These robust flavors are perfect to sip by the fire or while bundled up reading a good book.

    2. During your weekend visit, ask us about our Warm Mulled Wine.

    Pick up our mulling spices & a bottle of your favorite dry to semi-dry red wine to make your own at home!

    Recipe:
    • 2 bottles of red wine (we recommend Marechal Foch!)
    • 1 packet of mulling spices
    • 2/3 cup sugar if using a semi-dry wine (less for sweeter wines, more for dryer wines)
    In a Crock Pot or on the stove, stir sugar into wine and heat (but don’t boil!) wine, with spice packet steeping for 20-30 minutes. Pour into your favorite mug & enjoy!

    3. Stop by on Saturday or Sunday now through March 30th to experience one of our Winter Warm Up Weekends!

    Enjoy satisfying soup, decadent desserts, and local live music on our cozy, heated patio.

    The Tasting Room is open 12-6pm with complimentary wine tasting & wine by the glass, bottle, or for carryout. Live music will be on the patio 2-5pm. Seating is first come, first served. Click here to check out our full lineup.
